In a heavily guarded mansion in a posh Virginia suburb, a man and a woman start to make love, trapping Luther Whitney, a career break-in artist, behind a secret wall. Then the passion turns deadly, and Luther is running into the night. Because what he has just seen is a brutal murder involving Alan Richmond, the president of the United States, the man with...Absolute Power.

Wonderful, could not put it down.
  • Book vs Movie

    By Birds Galore
The book is a very good read and far different from the movie most of the main characters are there but the love interest between Gloria Russell and the President, Tim Collin was not in the movie. Also the death of Luther Whitney and Kate Whitney moving away was not in the movie. I am truly amazed how Clint Eastwood pulled a great movie from a great book. It's a complement to his many years of acting, directing, and screenwriting.
  • A Powerful Life!

I have been a fan of David's for many years & I have read many of his books, but not all. I did read Absolute Power many years ago. I just purchased an iPad! Now I am going to read every one of his books, in order on my iPad! The first thing I did when I turned on my iPad was download this iBook. What a thriller! The way politics are today, this book makes you wonder even more about those we elect! However, it also makes you question those who serve them! What dedication! What sacrifices! What a shame! Does POWER always corrupt? Unfortunately, the answer is YES & at every level! Think about this! How do you use all YOUR POWER in everything you do! When you go to bed at night, can you put your head on the pillow and go to sleep with peace of mind that you live your life correctly? I know Jack did! I know I try too every day! But TOTAL CONTROL is so tempting to many of us! Especially me! I'm going to download it RIGHT NOW!

Thrilling, very descriptive as Baldacci always is.
  • Very good book! Too many typos!

The book is very good... Everything I've come to expect and enjoy from David Baldacci. However, there are far too many typos - they are distracting, annoying, and unacceptable for a published work. As we are paying for the book, I think it fair and reasonable to get a professionally finished product!
  • Great book; e-book has some typos which are distracting
