This is the conclusion of Marlo and Ray’s dramatic romance. It is not as exciting with big buildups like the first two but it still took you on a roller coaster ride. It the final installment you find Ray and Marlo battling her feelings. She is afraid of loving and losing Marlo. The push and pull of her feelings sends Marlo spinning. Add a near death experience , an emotional showdown with her parents, and a play that is still not put together and you get a high drama. On top of the fans there is still humor to even everything out. Great conclusion with a cute epilogue.

Such a beautiful book and series. The 2nd page in and I was already in tears. The love, the hate, the fighting, the chemistry even the history behind Marlo and Ray is amazing. It’s so strong it’s so powerful and emotional. It’s funny as hell also and comes with such great characters that just fit. I absolutely loved it.

I LOVED this entire series. The chemistry and tension between Ray and Marlo had me frantically turning pages. I caught myself smiling like a teenage girl at times. My favorite thing about this series is that its real lfe, real people in real situations which made it all the more enjoyable. What a fun, emotional, amazingly quick read!!

Summer Nights is book 3 of the Cruel Summer series by Rachel Van Dyken. I was so anxious to read this after the cliffhanger in book two. “Was I just the challenge he could never win?” Even though both of these main characters have so much self doubt, regret, secrets, pain and stubbornness...they have equal amounts of self growth, hope, love and friends having their back. “I wanted nothing between us but skin. No room for secrets, only us.” I laughed, cried, felt joy, was frustrated and wanted to scream at times. I’m hoping other characters get their limelight in another series...with Ray and Marlo updates sprinkled throughout. I’m not ready for their story to be over.

This book was an amazing conclusion to this series. Marlo and Ray still have many things to get right between them and also for themselves. However, Rachel does not disappoint with how this all happens. I can say I wish there was more to this series but either way I loved it!!!

Rachel Van Dyken concludes her Cruel Summer trilogy with Summer Nights, a story of hate, love and redemption. Marlo and Ray’s epic love story continues right where Summer Seduction left off, with a terrifying accident that threatens delicate relationship between them. I really can’t say much about this book’s plot without giving the entire thing away, but I can mostly definitely talk about the supporting characters, who I hope to get to know better in the future. They were more than funny and endearing, they were pivotal in helping along Ray and Marlo’s relationship. I also enjoyed the dance scenes which should have been difficult to describe, but RVD pulls off vivid and steamy page turning dance sequences. RVD’s writing is engaging and full of deep desire, both physical and emotional. Beyond the intense chemistry and heady moments, the novel strips Marlo and Ray bare, forcing them to analyze their past and themselves in order to be able to fully commit their present and future to one another. It was both moving and absolutely swoony. I had been eagerly anticipating this last installment. RVD’s story gripped me from start to finish while I devoured everything from the emotional twists and turns to the happy ending I had been waiting for. I LOVED this entire series so hard! Summer Nights is book #3 of the Cruel Summer trilogy by Rachel Van Dyken. It is the perfect end to Marlo and Ray’s love story. Told from both points of view with a happy ending.

4.5 Stars We finally get the much anticipated conclusion to the Cruel Summer trilogy. This trilogy hooked me from the beginning and had me needing more. Summer Nights picks up were we left off from book two’s cliff hanger. We learn more about Ray and Marlo and their past. These two have so much bad history it was hard to tell if they would be able to move past it. I really enjoyed this trilogy and all the characters. It was the perfect summer romance. If you are looking for fast paced romance with some angst look no further.
